Step-By-Step Wednesday -- Green team #14-17

Green Team 14-17 Challenge
Anything goes for Mom, with out flowers.

I know, we must be crazy right?  When it comes to creating something for MOM, there always seems to be some pretty flowers involved.  Well this week, we are going to make you stretch your imagination and create something with out the use of flowers.
This week the design team is using the Bo Bunny Modern Miss paper collection and the Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings stamp set.  And WOW have they come up with some really terrific creations.  Stop by each of their blogs and check them out.  Then create something of your own and enter this weeks challenge.
Here's a look at the full collection of Modern Miss Products.  You can pick up your items in the Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supply Store.

The Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings stamp can be used for so many things.

This challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin' was harder than you would think!  No flowers, means NO flowers!  None on the brads, buttons, ribbon, nada!

Well I did it!!  No flowers!!  A few of the design team members made easel cards, so I thought not everyone may know how to make one of these unique cards!

So here goes!  First I gathered my supplies which included an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of cardstock (this will become my card base).  I chose white, but it can be any color.

step one:  Cut your paper in 1/2 (should have two that measure 5 1/2" x 8 1/2")
step two:  cut one in 1/2 again (should have two that measure 5 1/2" x 4 1/4")
step three:  the longer, uncut sheet should be folded in half like you would for a regular card, then one of the halves folded in half as shown.
step four:  glue the 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" sheet to the flap on the folded card.  This is now your card front.  Something thick or popped up needs to be placed on the bottom flap to hold the easel up.  I used some pop dots on a tag, along with some buttons.  I've used ribbon, brads, flowers, chipboard......anything that sticks up a little to form a lip.

Some other supplies I used are a plain white doily cut in half, some twine and bakers twine, and a craft paper tag.  Enjoy making these beautiful and impressive looking cards!  No one needs to know it wasn't that hard!  That can be out little secret! ;)

Don't forget to create something special for Mom, with out a flower.  Mother's Day is only a few weeks away.  Then go HERE and enter to win this week's challenge!

The Color Purple!

No, not THAT color purple, just the purple, plum, lavender and amethyst kind!  This week at Clear It Out Challenge, we're draped in this very vibrant (and one of my favorite) colors!

Challenge:  Use purple  -- Stash:  Use purple!

Pretty simple!

Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine!  The image I chose is called "Valentina!"  My niece's name is Valentina and thought it was a sign, that I had to use her!

Colored her in with Tombow Art Markers, the paper is Basic Grey Wisteria (an oldie but goodie), the satin ribbon, button and string are from my stash.

I also used a sketch from MyFavoriteThings for this one.

Please check out Lacy Sunshine and her beautiful images!

Until next week, thanks for visiting!

Green Team - Easter Challenge #14-15

This week's challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin' is all about Easter!  Featured are the Paper Smooches Spring Fling Stamps and Imaginise "Welcome Spring."

My Step-by-Step post this week is all about background paper!  I have created my own background paper with Glimmer Mist and Matte Mist.

To start out, cover your work surface with something to keep the mist from getting where you don't want it!  Then start misting!

I used some watercolor paper and misted on some Plain Jane Baseboard paint in Water, Fire and Tiger Lilly.  Then it's got to dry!

After it dried, I used an EKSuccess punch to punch the holes in the side......I saved the punches for an effect later on.  Once it was punched, the colors didn't seem very "springy" to me.....they were a bit too dark.  So, using a moistened paper towel, I wiped off some of the color.  Since it was sprayed on watercolor paper, this didn't tear the paper up.  After it was lightened, the colors still weren't grabbing me.  So I grabbed some Glimmer Mist in Sand and sprayed it again.  It's now lighter and more shimmery!

This is where the holes come into play!!  I saw this beautiful tag on Pinterest that used the punched out holes as added dimension........sooooo........I took some of the punched holes, adhered them to the background and then used some Glossy Accents to give them a little pop!  I added some green gems, used some prima flowers, stamped an egg on patterned paper and my sentiment and there you have it!

Don't forget to check out Cuttin' and Stampin' Store for all of these great papers and stamps and also don't forget to enter your project here for a chance to win!

Happy Easter!

Welcome back!!  With this being Holy Week, the theme at Clear It Out Challenge this week is Easter.  The stash item is to use up some of those brads you have piling up.....especially the pastel ones!

We have two new super exciting sponsors this week:  Digital Delights and WhoopsiDaisy Digitals.  The winner will receive 2 sheets of digis from WhoopsiDaisy.

My card this week features an image from WhoopsiDaisy.  I used my Tombow Art Markers to color in the image.  The paper is all from scraps.  Added a bit of Stickles for some sparkle and the sentiment comes from Paper Smooches - Spring Fling.

From my home to yours, hope you and your family have a Blessed Easter!

3GirlJam Guest Designer!

I am super stoked and excited to be featured as a Guest Designer at 3GirlJam!!  This month's theme is All Things Spring!  Here in Florida, it's beau-ti-ful!!  This is my favorite time of year!

My card has many parts!  I used Fancy Pants Childish Things patterned paper and my image is from DigiDarla Designs (who unfortunately has gone out of business).  I colored in my image with Tombow Art Markers, used Paper Smooches Spring Fling for the sentiment.  Attached it with a jump ring for a little movement.  The yellow ribbon is from the Spring Flowers bundle and is called daffodil, the pink is from the pink and white bundle and is called cherry lipstick!  Both of these colors are gorgeous in person!

Thanks for checking out my blog, and be sure to keep up with 3GirlJam!

Step-By-Step Challenge - Quilt Inspired

Challenge - Create a Quilt Pattern using paper or stamps

The design team is using LemonLush paper line for this weeks creations.  This paper line is perfect for quilting! You can pick up your own pack and the coordinating embellishments in our Facebook Store

The challenge this week at Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenge is Quilt Inspired!

I've never made an actual quilt, but it's on my list of things to do!  I did need some inspiration, so I went to Pinterest!  Found a really cute idea with daisies and.....BAMM......it hit me!  So let's get started!

I cut my patterned paper into 1" squares, figured out an arrangement and started glueing!  Once they were all glued down, I ran it through my BigKick and embossed the whole thing so I had the look of an actual quilted piece (p.s. it also mashed the squares all down so nothing was loose or sticking up)!!

Next onto the flower!

I used the Plaintin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge, set at 3"  Cut one, then the shadow, then cut another at 3 1/4" in green to pop it!  The circle is 1".

After it was embossed, it still needed something.  I grabbed a tube of seed beads I had purchased some time ago for another project.  I made a large pool of Glossy Accents in the center of the flower middle, poured on some beads and waited for it to dry!  It dries clear and holds well, I knew it was the best choice!

This was a fun card to make!  Fist time for me using beads!  I see more in my future!  Have fun with it!!

Stop by our wonderful design teams creations and give them a little blog love.  Then create your own quilt pattern creation and enter it in this week challenge here.

Until next time..........Jenni =D

Let's hear it for the BOYZ!!

Hey there!  It's no April Fool's Day prank here......just  a simple project for one of the boys or men in your life!  This week's challenge at Clear It Out is to create a project for a male (man or boy doesn't matter).  Our stash item is to use some stickers!

Our awesome sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps is on board again with a great prize for our winner!

The image I used is called (appropriately) GuySurf.  I used my Tombow Art Markers to color him.  The paper is Basic Grey Granola.  The two water dots and the two starfish are stickers.

So go ahead, put down the pink and flowery papers and channel your inner boy!  Don't forget to use some stickers and we can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Until next week........Jenni =D
